Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has won 21 championships at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet defended 4 early break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
