Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.
"There is still no indication as to its source; investigators are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.
City officials said they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for information.
A senior official commented the incident made him stunned and had to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
